Wesfarmers Health

Wesfarmers Health channels all material charitable contributions through the Sisterhood Foundation (previously the Priceline Sisterhood Foundation).

The Sisterhood Foundation (‘the Foundation’) partners with a curated portfolio of selected charities to support each one to achieve its core charitable purpose and to build organisational capability and financial sustainability. Based on strategic alignment, and adherence to a set of established criteria, capacity building grants are awarded for an initial term of three years, which can be renewed, subject to impact generated. Additional, in-kind support is also provided.

As a registered, independent charity under the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission, the Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors, composed of Wesfarmers Health senior executives and independent non-executive directors. Wesfarmers Health provides a range of support and management services to the Foundation.

During the 2025 financial year, the Foundation undertook an extensive consultation process to update its strategy; noticeably its purpose and mission.

The Foundation’s new purpose is: “To hear, acknowledge and address the unique health issues impacting Australian women and girls”.

Its mission is: “To build capability in frontline charities that deliver programs which create positive health outcomes in the lives of women and girls”.

The new purpose and mission are supported by a revitalised brand and visual identity.

The new strategy has become a comprehensive framework to manage the existing charity partners and to guide decision making for additions to the charity partner portfolio.

In 2025, the number of charity partners doubled from four to eight. Each of the new funded organisations delivers programs for Australian women and girls, either exclusively or disproportionately. These programs encourage women and girls to lead healthier lives, encompassing both physical and social determinants of health.

The Foundation is one of only a handful of philanthropic organisations that fund charities working in women’s health in strategic alignment to Wesfarmers Health and as a strong point of differentiation.

The new strategic approach has also allowed the Foundation to expand its remit to include all Wesfarmers Health businesses (previously associated exclusively with Priceline).

Over time, this expansion will allow the Foundation to increase its impact.

The new strategy was informed through consultation with the Foundation Board of Directors and Executive Officer, Wesfarmers Health team members and external experts. The varying perspectives of these different stakeholder groups ensured that the new strategy was focused, relevant and exciting.

Given the strategic decision to focus on women’s health, the Foundation partnered with Monash University to undertake a research program to understand the often overlooked and “silent” health issues faced by Australian women and girls.

Over 2,200 women and girls across Australia completed written surveys, including members of the Priceline Sister Club, and more than 20 in-depth face-to-face interviews were conducted. This research will ensure that future funding decisions, and awareness building, address the most pressing health needs of Australian women and girls.

Since its inception, the Foundation has raised over $13.6 million dollars towards its goal of supporting the community with a focus on women and their families.

Over $2.0 million dollars has been disbursed to charity partners compared to $1.2 million dollars last year, representing a 67 per cent increase.
